Early Entries Build
It's two weeks since the launch of the 2027 Three Castles and its two new sister events, the VSCC Challenge and the Mostyn Trophy, early entries are in across the board, with twenty received so far for the three day Trial and VSCC Challenge plus four for the brand new one day Mostyn Trophy. Leading the way were Adam Davis and Stewart Raynor in a Porsche 914 that Adam is readying for combat on another Three Castles. Hot on their heels came Jason and Claire Fedder in their Mexico, making the step up after taking part in the Trail. That event, and the competitive one-day Mostyn Trophy on next year's schedule, are each ways to find out about the world of Three Castles before you take the plunge on the main event, and we'll watch how they do keenly! Regular entrants Stephen and Collette Owens (SS100), Peter & Louise Myles (911) Brian and Andrew Yeomans (911) Duncan and Steve Wild (Mini Cooper) and James & Gilly Holt (911) quickly followed and another crew in a prewar car, Richard & Victoria Nicholl in their Alvis 12./50, were next. Sure to go well are David and Sally Ward (Fulvia 1600HF) and Graham Walker and Sean Toohey (Elan), who were in the next group along with fellow event stalwarts John and Mark Gearing, back in John's MGB with Mark wisely doing the driving. John has done nearly every Three Castles Trial and Graham, HAS done every one. More MGBs for Andrew & Jill Cooper (GT) and Duncan and Kay Hopkinson (CGT) followed, with returning crew David Coxon and Peter Hawkins (Healey 3000) and Robert and Tim Carr (Sunbeam Imp Sport) completing the first fifteen confirmed entries. On the VSCC Challenge our first new faces were Richard and Catherine Phillipson in their Alvis 4.3 litre. Support for this new event open to VSCC owners of prewar cars only is high within the club, and they will be joined by others shortly. Over on the Mostyn Trophy we say hello again to a returning old friend, Nikki Daniels, now driving the family MGB for the first time, with Jacqui Boost navigating. With that name in the hot seat they'll surely do well. They are joined by three crews new to us, all of whom enter mid 60s cars and all of whom we welcome warmly. Edward and Katherine Sunley bring their Sunbeam Alpine, while North Wales-based Chris Tindall and Avril Banks have a Lotus Cortina Mk1 and George and Linda Lee have entered their MG Midget. It's particularly great to see local teams coming out to enjoy the event. A big thank you too to all of you for the commitment you show, in some cases every year, in entering early.
