CREWS GATHER IN LLANDUDNO FOR 2018 THREE CASTLES TRIAL

Crews are gathering today in a sunny Llandudno for the fifteenth anniversary Three Castles Trial, which takes place from June 6-8 preceded by Scrutineering and the Prologue on June 5th.

Over 500 miles of friendly competition lie ahead, with the weather happily forecast to be benign. Great views will abound on day one, Thursday June 6th, when the emphasis is on a fine touring route taking in much of the finest scenery to the west and south of the famous resort.

Amid the viewpoints there’ll be time for five tests on private land (don’t miss the crews as they tackle laps of the tight yet challenging Glasfryn Park Kart Circuit) and a long regularity section on the Lleyn peninsula.

Among the favourites are the winners of last year’s Three Castles Trophy event, Irish star Dermot Carnegie and his navigator Paul Bosdet, in their rapid Ford Escort. With crews coming from as far afield as Australia and the USA and Canada, though, anything is possible, and as usual a fine array of cars, this year featuring models made from 1920-1990, will take the start.

The action starts on Tuesday morning with Scrutineering on the Promenade from 08.00. Judging for the Concours D’Elegance takes place between 09.30 and 11.00. The first car starts the forty mile Prologue at 14.01.
