The great thing about the Three Castles Trial is that you stay in the same hotel throughout. That means, of course, that you can unpack and set up home for few days in your room, with no tiresome repacking each day.
THE 2019 THREE CASTLES TRIAL WILL RUN FROM JUNE 4 -7 2019

Rally HQ is The Imperial Hotel, holder of two AA rosettes for its food and one of Llandudno’s best AA four star hotels, and most crews choose to stay here (though you are free to stay wherever you choose). The Imperial offers a special room rate for crews entering the Three Castles Trial, which can be accessed on entering the event.
The view of Llandudno above shows the main Promenade - the taller, well-lit building medium right is the Imperial Hotel, Rally HQ.
There are two other four star hotels in Llandudno, in which our competitors always enjoy staying. Not far out of shot far right is the St. George's Hotel. The picture was taken just a few yards from the Empire Hotel. In these pages we offer our own brief introduction to each to help you form a view of which will suit you best.
Click the links below to see our introduction to each hotel.
While you're there, if you want to know more, the hotel's own website may be accessed by clicking on its logo. (Please note this will take you off this site, to theirs).
The St George's was the very first grand hotel to be built in Llandudno after the town was founded in 1854. The hotel enjoys a fine position on the seafront near the head of the Promenade, with clear views of the Great Orme headland. Everything is a short stroll, including our Start Line, which is directly opposite the hotel on the Promenade.
Having benefitted from a £4 million restoration in 2006 the St. George's now has air conditioning in every public room and bedroom and holds four AA stars. It has a formal restaurant and bedrooms are tastefully decorated in a modern style. There's no pool, and there's no garage, so off-street parking here is very limited, but the hotel is close to Rally HQ - it's just a couple of blocks and an easy walk away .
Rooms here are contemporary in style and well furnished with TVs en-suite bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Standard rooms are smaller and have a limited view. De luxe rooms are larger and some have sea views.
The St. George was Llandudno's original hotel. Its recent refurbishment has placed it back among the town's leading four star hotels. If you want to stay in a larger hotel that's very conveniently situated this could be your hotel. For more on The St. George's, you can use the link on the right to visit the hotel's own website.
Our Rally HQ hotel, The Imperial enjoys a central sea-front location just across the road from Llandudno Promenade, a short stroll from the start line and in the other direction, from Venue Cymru.
This comfortable Best Western hotel is the largest in Llandudno to hold four AA stars and was named AA Welsh Hotel of the Year for 2010-2011. The building has just been repainted and looks the part in its new pale grey colour scheme. There's a restaurant, a good sized bar and a small lobby area. Guests enjoy the use of a pool, fitness room and spa area. There's free wi-fi in most bedrooms and all public areas.
All our rooms here are comfortably furnished and have en-suite bathrooms and comfortable beds. Standard rooms are smaller and have a limited view, which may be of the car park at the rear. Upgrade rooms are larger and most have sea views. Suites have generous sitting rooms, and are much larger.
The hotel has a small car park to the rear, and overnight street parking is easy, although we recommmend use of our secure facility at The Victoria Centre, just a short stroll away. Please note that daytime parking restrictions apply on surrounding streets.
The hotel receives the rally enthusiastically and its General Manager and staff have become friends over the years. It really welcomes the event, as do all our hotel partners. Up to eighty Three Castles crews stay here each year and many return year after year.
The Imperial is a large, friendly hotel that acts as Rally HQ, at which those customers who like to be in the thick of things often choose to stay. For more on The Imperial, you can use the link on the right to visit the hotel's own website.
A hotel that has been a Three Castles favourite from the beginning, The Empire was originally built in 1854 as Llandudno's first shopping emporium; only much later did it became a hotel.
Enjoying a quieter, slightly elevated position at the head of the town, it nestles under the Great Orme headland. The sea-front and Llandudno's main shops and facilities in Mostyn Street are just a short stroll away.
Lounge and restaurant areas here are decorated in an elegant turn of the century style and the hotel holds four AA stars. It has a formal restaurant and a separate modern Brasserie serving gastropub fare. Public rooms are tastefully decorated, as is a recently revitalised and upgraded pool area.
Access to the small garage at the rear is tight, but parking in the streets outside the hotel is easy. There's free wireless wi-fi in all public rooms and most bedrooms.
Rooms here are comfortably furnished in a traditional style with TVs and en-suite bathrooms. Standard rooms are smaller and have a limited view. De luxe rooms are larger and some higher up in the hotel have sea views.
The Empire enjoys a great position and is a very friendly family-owned and managed hotel with a style of its own that earns high praise. If you want a quiet place to stay in the middle of Llandudno, this could be your hotel. For more on The Empire, you can use the link on the right to visit the hotel's own website.
